Introducing: New Feature to Bypass DND

Dear valued customers,

Since the enforcement of the Do-Not-Disturb policy by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on all Telecommunications Company (MTN, GLO, Airtel, Etisalat, etc.) existing subscribers have experienced difficulty in sending Bulk SMS to DND numbers on their respective networks.

Today, we are happy to announce an update to our service that allows you to bypass the DND restriction on all networks. The introduction of this new feature has already been added to our portal and is fully functional. 

The DND bypass feature allows you to reach your contacts whose numbers are on DND by using rUPDATE as the senderID.

To implement this feature, 

  • Click on Compose SMS / Compose Bulk SMS
  • Input your message and check the box – “Send to DND numbers (2 Credits)” 

Your message will deliver to the DND numbers conveniently.

Things to take note of when using SMS for marketing campaigns

1. Collect your own contact list through opt-in features; never rent or purchase lists.
2. Frequency matters - Avoid sending more messages than the initial number you set in your opt-in welcome message.
3. Specify the end dates of promotional campaigns to encourage customers to act quickly.
4. Include a compelling call-to-action and incentives to encourage a response from your audience, ie: "Shop online today and save 15% off your entire purchase!"
5. Make sure all message content is relevant to your target audience.
6. Crosscheck messages thoroughly before sending, making sure all links are active and spelling is correct.
7. Send messages at appropriate times of day, avoiding early mornings and late nights.
8. For promotional messages, deliver at optimal times during business hours to bring in quick traffic.
